Louisville Lightning

We are an adaptive sports program organized by Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky. Our co-directors are two, pediatric physical therapists that work in the school system. We provide all sport equipment including race chairs, throwing frames, multi-court chairs, and strike force power chairs at no cost. Louisville Lightning aims to create meaningful opportunities for young athletes with physical disabilities to grow through sport—building confidence, independence, and real-world skills. We offer a range of participation levels, from beginner “try-it” sessions to competitive travel teams, and welcome every eligible athlete who is ready to learn, work hard, and be part of a team. We emphasize respect, effort, inclusion, teamwork, and responsibility while maintaining a competitive environment that teaches valuable life skills.
